Soil Nails
Soil Nails have gained popularity in recent years because of the wide range of applications, ease of installation, and cost effectiveness. Often used in conjunction with shotcrete and/or gunite, they are often used in temporary and permanent shoring, slope stabilization, and retaining wall systems.
These "nails", steel rods between 2 and 3 feet long, can be pushed or drilled into the ground. Once in place, they can be used as tie-backs or left alone to provide added lateral strength.
