Concrete or other structures may fail, showing cracks, spalling, displacement, deflection or other evidence of
forces at work upon the structure. A concrete beam, for example, might begin to deflect and crack under the
influence of external loads or deicing agents. Concrete piers may spall and deteriorate due to wave action or
vehicular impact. These or similar failures might be addressed with structural supports while cracks might be
remedied with several different fill materials. |
