GROUND IMPROVEMENT

The ultimate aim of ground improvement is an increase in foundation support capacity, improving the drainage capacity, protecting structures and reducing stress resulting from and acting on subsurface soils. This may be accomplished by densification of the soil, dewatering, replacement of soil with stone or various methods of grouting. Soil underlying dam foundations may also be strengthened to the required project specifications by these methods.
